REILLY GREENBRASS 12" QLD ASH - NEW 2022 - Sold

This new 25.5" inch scale length, 12" open back features specially selected Australian timbers. Blackall Range luthier Paul Reilly has matched glowing yellow Queensland Ash with bright, laquered brass hardware and set these off with a fresh green backstrap and elegant black trim. A delightful banjo with vigorous volume and distinctive 12" sound, satin finished with hand-rubbed danish oil.

A unique instrument combining Australian timbers, artistic flair and traditional construction. Queensland Blueberry Ash neck with carbon fibre non adjustable truss rod. Qld Maple fingerboard and simple dot inlays. Block construction rim of Queensland maple veneered with Queensland Ash. Figured Qld Maple peghead, pot cap and heel cap. New Guinea Rosewood tone ring. Gotoh brass tuners. Hand wrought brass tension hoop protected by acrylic lacquer. 22 Pisgah brass hooks. Pisgah brass no knot tailpiece. 5/8" White Swallow maple and ironbark bridge giving warm, tubby clawhammer sound. Remo Renaissance 12" skin. Nut width is 34.0 mm - ample finger room. Lazy S scoop. Dowel stick brass brace from Pisgah. Buffalo bone nut and fifth string pip held by string pressure alone. (Should the owner wish to change from steel strings to nylon.)
