What banjo are you playing now? Here's an inspiration for 2016! The Surian/Macassar is a delightful, sweet-sounding creation by Alan Funk.
Neck and armrest are Surian (a type of rainforest-alternative mahogany) Fingerboard and peghead are Macassar Ebony. Ironbark tone ring. The rim is walnut/wild cherry/pecan with silky oak capping. Spikes installed at 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th frets. Diamond inlays. Frailing scoop will please clawhammer players. Case is a level above the usual black vinyl case, having double neck cradle for added support, and in mock-croc finish. Presently kitted with light strings, this banjo is very easy to play having the typical Swallow slimline neck.
