Excellent condition, this banjo has a driving bluegrass sound with US-made prestige components, assembled and set up by an experienced luthier. Aged American Black Walnut neck (approx 80 year old piece of timber) with attractive blonde Rock Maple centre stripe recently crafted by Alan Funk of White Swallow Banjos.

Made by Alan Funk of South Australia, this modestly priced banjo has steel bar type truss rod - the neck wood can be pared down as the neck strength depends on steel rather than the thickness of wood. Slides are effortless and thumbing the 5th string is a piece of cake (as in melodic pieces and adding 6ths and 9ths in back-up.)

Made by Geo. C. Dobson, Boston, Mass, USA. 11" inch spun over rim with 36 brackets. Beautiful, 25 inch one-piece mahogany neck/headstock with fancy pearl inlays in the fingerboard and Buckbee shaped peghead.
