One of the new-wave, one-piece flange classic flathead banjos. Features include eagle-claw tailpiece, figured maple neck, 3-ply maple rim, brass tone ring, planetary pegs & geared 5th peg. Spikes at 7th, 9th and 10th frets. Bound, book-matched maple resonator really glows, and hardware is chrome plated. (Although maker describes 'rosewood fingerboard with pearl inlay', this presents like ebanol. Benefits of which are that it's impervious to dirt, fingernail gouging, won't split, crack, or go warpy. For the price, this Cascade has surprisingly good response throughout the tonal range and thanks to the one-piece flange is incredibly loud. An excellent choice for any beginner/intermediate-level bluegrass player.
