This 5-string banjo was designed with the vintage 1930's Gibson tone and feel in mind.
Excellent Condition. Mahogany resonator and JD Crowe designed V-shaped neck. Custom Black Jack Pearl fingerboard inlays. Bound Rosewood fingerboard. Double purfling on resonator. Antique finish Presto tailpiece and hardware* and elaborate engraving on armrest, tone ring and tension hoop. JD Crowe tone ring and one-piece flange. Vintage-style 2-band tuners with ivoroid buttons. Real nice banjo in great condition. All original parts. Spikes at 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th frets.
*Copper flashed over nickel. Some wearing on flashing.
A warm, and extremely pleasing vintage look. The sound is full, round and well balanced, with a rich bottom end and the familiar bell-like Gibson ring all the way up the fingerboard. The playing action is set quite low, making this banjo a dream to play and to hear.
